Dr. Miller to Present at Band Directors National Conference
Dr. Jeffrey Miller, Director of Athletic Bands, will present at the College Band Directors National Association Athletic Band Symposium, to be held at the University of Minnesota June 2-4. Dr. Miller will present a clinic session on starting new collegiate marching bands, in partnership with Dr. Debra Traficante of Kennesaw State University (Georgia).
Dr. Miller joined the music faculty at UNC Charlotte in the fall of 2014 as the University’s inaugural Director of Athletic Bands. He recruited and trained the first “Pride of Niner Nation” Marching Band, which made its debut in September 2015 with 145 members. Prior to coming to UNC Charlotte, Dr. Miller was interim assistant director of bands at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he served as the assistant director of the Golden Buffalo Marching Band.
The College Band Directors National Association is a 75-year-old institution devoted to the teaching, performance, study, and cultivation of music, particularly wind ensemble music.
